Not lost on me throughout this journey is the awesome responsibility I feel to share God’s purpose for my life to each of you. On my darkest days, both during the show and after it’s been the support I have felt from each of you, through Him that has made it all worth it.

Every now and then, I will stop in and write a life note about how God is using my story to help others grow stronger in their faith. Please take the time to comment on my life notes and share life notes of your own. I want this to be your space where you share with me how God is working in your life.

Be sure to check back often as I will be reading your comments and posting my thoughts here!!!

Our wedding day!

Admin Owner - Wednesday, July 15, 2009
Wow what a crazy experience...you plan an plan and pray for the best. We absolutely had the best and it was thanks in part to so many people.
I had a wonderful outdoor, June wedding and it was set for sunset. My best compliment of the night was that people really seemed to love the small specific details that were at every turn. As our guest were greeted they were asked to wear rubber bracelets to designate over and under 21. Then they received silk fans and a program to keep them cool. The ceremony was over looking a pond and several cows were grazing mere feet away. With the aisle lined with petal in the shapes of paisleys and pomanders at the end of each row. Guests took there seats in white garden chairs. The ceremony was planned to be short sweet and right to the point. Always wanting to be a little different I threw out the usual and my dad walked me down the aisle to “Michelle”, which was a surprise for everyone. Vows were exchanged and our rings hung from the Chandelier that was in a tree just over our heads. Our Maid of Honor and Best Man took care of getting them untied. Just after the kiss we walked back out as Husband and wife to LOVE by Joss Stone.

With the Ceremony and Pictures over, we invited our guest to join us in celebrating our new life by letting go and just acting like they were at our first family reunion rather than a wedding. Flip-flops were placed in buckets for everyone to change into. Signs made by my father directed everyone as to what games and exciting entertainment awaited them. Things like outdoor games of Bocce ball, ladder ball, washers, bean bag toss and even a kid zone that contained coloring books and ring toss. The food was a cuban fusion by Cuba Libre in Dallas with options like chicken, salmon, and pork there was something for everyone. The signature drink was a pomegranate mojito, we named it a Marry Me Mojito and guest could take home a muddler with the recipe attached. While you finished eating a wonderful spread you could enjoy a cigar by the pool or head inside for a quick bit of fun provided by www.iloveflipbooks.com ...If you haven’t seen this you need to try it out asap. They are 6 second videos that get turned into a flipbook, they have signs and props to make it more hilarious. Micah and I not wanting to forget about the details had the cover designed with our logo and the date for our guest to remembers us by. As if that wasn’t enough there was cake, need i say more... The grooms cake made by was gone in 2.2 seconds flat, Micah chose his favorite cake from his favorite restaurant, Steve Fields. The cake was a Chocolate with butter cream icing, topped with chocolate and caramel drizzle and last but not least with shaved almonds sprinkled everywhere. For my cake I chose cupcakes...bunny trail...the day before the wedding I received a call from a well known bakery stating that they could not guarantee a delivery for my wedding day that had been ordered months in advance.  In a frenzied panic I located a local bakery Elizabeth Cakes in Plano and had a rush order made and they were delivered on time and tasted better than I could have imagined. I think it was because they were made with love. Because we did not want to losing lights for picture purposes we did a “fake-ending” and took off in a Helicopter. This was our first real quiet moment together and wow what a way to start our new life. Upon our return we had our first dance and well the rest is how they say, History or should I say Happily ever after!!!

The Special Touches
Some interesting things. We did not opt for a videographer because we had the very best Photographers in the world. This family of photographers made our day so very special and they captured the day with precision and artistic flair.  Anyone looking for the best, needs to get ahold of them. To David, Luke and Lauren you have captured our day and we could not me more grateful.

I am not sure if its because I am a control freak or if its because I wanted to be frugal, but I choose to go with www.do-it-yourselfbrides.com  for my wedding planning and flowers. I met the owner and found that I could not only trust her with helping to incorporate my vision with a custom look, but to also educate me in actually putting the pieces together.
Julie and I met and made a plan, I took classes from the shop and a few days before the wedding I got some of my family and friends together for a crafty day. You see they were wanting to be apart of helping out with the wedding and having them assemble the actual centerpieces and other projects. This was the best idea EVER. When all the women arrived at the wedding they were very excited to be apart of my day. Thank you Julie Crow and do-it-yourselfbrides.com. You can check out additional pictures on there site.
